I don't know if the L/R keys actually do anything in Chrono Trigger besides this door sequence. I've tried navigating the "menu" in the game with L/R and nothing happens. So anyways. Just set the controller buttons to whatever you want on the keyboard. WASD for directions, numpad 8456 for XYBA, and numpad 7 and 9 for L and R was my preferred set-up.
